The Father with the Outstretched Arms

Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son depicts the plight of a runaway son, a grieving father and a sulky older brother. Self-reliance, selfishness and self-condemnation bring about isolation and loneliness in a family that longs for closeness, support and companionship. When we understand our heavenly Father’s heart, we can leave loneliness behind and enter into His love and intimacy.
