How We Get Our View of God

Our view of God is shaped positively or painfully by life events, growing up experiences, and religious traditions and experiences. Like Job, life events can bolster our faith. Or, like King Saul they can produce bitterness and bondage. As we grow, earthly fathers and other experiences shape our image of God. Even religious experiences can confuse or reinforce what the Bible teaches.  As God begins to reveal himself to Job, we see the first accurate picture of God given chronologically in the Bible.
