Baptizo: The Meaning of Baptism

Jesus commanded us to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit just before ascending into heaven. The word baptizo literally means “to immerse.” It was commonly used to describe immersing a garment: first to bleach, then into dye. The bleach pictures our cleansing from sin, the dye allows the believer to become something new: a new creature in Christ.

Preached at Casas Church June 22, 2014. Used by permission.
