Idolatry is leashing yourself to something other than God. It arises out of the human need to have intrinsic value and control of life. Idolatry is attempting to meet that need by assigning power to something of human invention or imagination to be responsible for meeting that need. To know and understand that principle will set you free to be wildly relational with a God who is wildly relational as you tether your soul to Him.
