The three parables of the lost sheep, the lost son, and the lost coin all involve something or someone lost, found, rejoicing and celebration in being found. Jesus is the true elder brother, searching for that which has been lost (all of humanity). We are all runaways, but still try to earn God’s favor by our deeds. The Good News is that we don’t have to be our own Savior. He comes searching for us!
