In the opening of Ruth’s story, we hear of the tragic loss of her husband and brother-in-law. We can learn from this passage that the wrong direction always equals the wrong destination. Dead ends and famines in our lives can be the messes that we made, someone else made and setting the stage for a miracle. Sometimes our dead ends are just part of life. In the midst, we must pursue obedience more than comfort. The best new chapter always begins with faith and honesty.
