Friends are often instrumental in our spiritual journey. In Capernaum, four men carry their handicapped friend to the right place on his spiritual journey. They take him to Jesus… and when they can’t get in the front door they drag him up on the roof, rip a hole in it and lower him down. Like the paralytic, we can be broken, sick, full of sin, weak-minded and short on faith, yet Jesus can change our lives, our minds, our hearts. Jesus has the power to make us children of God.
Glenn Barteau
Glenn and Angie Barteau grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and both were active in the youth group at Casas Church. They were married in 1990, and shortly thereafter they moved to Chicago where Glenn completed the Church Planting Internship at Willow Creek Community Church. Following the internship program, Glenn accepted a position at Kalamazoo Community Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Glenn and Angie returned to Tucson in 1995 to serve on staff at Casas Church. Glenn is currently serving as senior pastor at Casas. His passion is to powerfully lead Casas Church into the twenty-first century. Glenn’s engaging teaching style combines practicality with spirituality, leading listeners to put feet to their faith. When Glenn is not preparing a sermon, you are likely to find him camping, hiking, climbing, rappelling, watching a NASCAR race, or spending time with Angie and his children, Chandler and Collette. His newest passion is surfing—and because there are no ocean waves in Arizona, the family enjoys frequent trips to California. Glenn is a very gifted communicator who believes in his heart that people really do matter to God. He has great passion and gifting for evangelism. He is diligent about working to raise the temperature of evangelism at Casas. Spiritual growth, personal integrity, and authenticity are themes that you will not only hear him talk about, but actually see him live out in his everyday life.
